Congregations Sector Update and Invitation!
MN City Impact Alliance Gathering at Redeeming Love Church Rick Heeren chaired the Congregations Sector meeting at Redeeming Love Church. The group discussed several key challenges facing the Church: a post-COVID relational deficit as people shift from face-to-face connection to virtual interaction; the need for sanctification and transformation beyond the born-again experience (Philippians 2:12); the ongoing role of church leaders in equipping the saints (Ephesians 4:12), a theme Dr. Ed Silvoso will expand on in September; siloed congregations with uncoordinated visions, including the need to better connect immigrant and indigenous congregations; fatherlessness and generational disconnection, alongside the opportunity for older generations to encourage younger leaders; and complacency, noting that only 1 in 4 believers vote in general elections, a significant opportunity ahead of the midterms. The group also flagged the need to focus on transformation at the University of Minnesota, though time didn't allow for a full discussion. Finally, Ed Silvoso from Transform Our World is coming to Minnesota in September not only to speak at our September Alliance Gathering on the evening of September 25th, but also to hold a Pastor's Gathering at Redeeming Love Church on September 26th from 9AM - 12noon. He will also be teaching at Redeeming Love Church on Sunday, September 27th at the 9am and 10:30am services. He is soon releasing a new book on The Beauty of the Local Church and the Power of the Ekklesia.
